Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Coburger (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our website, the Coburger customer app and the Coburger Driver app (together, the “Services”). We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
- Account details — name, email address and phone number when you create an account.
- Order information — items ordered, order history, delivery address (for delivery orders) and any notes you provide.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Square. Your card details are sent directly to Square and never stored on our servers.
- Device information — a push notification token so we can send you order status updates (e.g. “your order is ready”).
- Driver information (Coburger Driver app only) — name, contact details, payout details, identity documents you upload (driver licence, right-to-work), an optional profile photo, and one-off location snapshots recorded when you update a delivery status (accept, pick up, deliver). We do not continuously track driver location in the background.
How we use your information
- To take, prepare and deliver your orders.
- To process payments and refunds through Square.
- To send order status notifications you have opted into.
- To verify driver identity and calculate driver delivery pay.
- To provide customer support and operate loyalty credit, promo codes and wallet features.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Services:
- Square — payment processing (PCI-compliant; card data never touches our servers).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notifications.
- Google Maps Platform — converting delivery addresses to map coordinates and calculating delivery distance.
- Cloudinary — hosting of images, including menu photos and driver documents/photos.
- Resend — transactional email such as password resets and receipts.
These providers only receive the information needed to perform their service.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure. Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing and all traffic between the apps and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Access to personal information is restricted to authorised staff.
Data retention and deletion
We keep order records for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by emailing hello@coburger.au. We will action deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal record-keeping obligations.
Children
The Services are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page, with the “last updated” date shown above.
